Altomaxx Offshore Expands into Guyana to Support Local Growth and Industry Development

Altomaxx Offshore, the offshore division of Altomaxx, is expanding into Guyana through a new joint venture with Guyanese drone company Dragonfly Solutions Group Inc. — bringing advanced drone technology to one of the world's fastest-growing economies while building lasting capacity within the Guyanese ecosystem.

As the dedicated offshore division of Altomaxx, Altomaxx Offshore extends the company's drone inspection, mapping, and compliance capabilities into international and offshore markets. It is a division of Altomaxx and operates under the same standards, expertise, and commitment to quality that define the Altomaxx name worldwide.

A Global Capability, Brought to Guyana

Altomaxx began in 2018 with a single drone in Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Today, the company operates in nearly 30 countries across six continents, delivering advanced drone inspections, mapping, and compliance services to major industries worldwide.

Through this joint venture, Altomaxx Offshore brings that same internationally proven capability to Guyana — pairing Altomaxx's experience in industrial inspections, geospatial intelligence, remote sensing, and advanced drone operations with Dragonfly's strong local knowledge of the Guyanese market.

Who Is Dragonfly?

Dragonfly Solutions Group Inc. is a Guyanese-led drone services company that has grown organically into a capable national operator. From a single drone, Dragonfly has built a fleet of approximately 18 aircraft, providing services that range from aerial photography and inspections to advanced surveying, mapping, and precision agriculture.

Beyond its commercial work, Dragonfly has become known for its commitment to community development — promoting STEM education and exposing young Guyanese to careers in emerging technologies. That alignment on education, workforce development, and local opportunity made Dragonfly a natural partner for Altomaxx Offshore.

Built to Support Guyana's Expanding Sectors

As Guyana's economy accelerates, demand is rising across energy, infrastructure, maritime services, and environmental management. The joint venture is positioned to support each of these sectors with specialized drone inspection and compliance services that meet international standards.

Altomaxx is globally recognized for specialized drone inspection and compliance services, and the company plans to share that expertise with local professionals. "We bring a unique skill set to the market," said Altomaxx executive Steve Priestly, "but our goal is knowledge transfer."

Investing in People, Not Just Technology

What sets this venture apart is its emphasis on knowledge transfer and workforce development. Rather than simply introducing technology to a new market, the partnership is built to create opportunities for Guyanese workers to acquire internationally recognized skills and to help develop the local industry from within.

"We chose Dragonfly because we're aligned on education, workforce development and creating local careers," Priestly said. "We don't just want to bring technology here. We want to transfer knowledge and help build the industry."

That philosophy is grounded in a simple belief: shared growth. "If Guyanese companies grow, the industry grows, and we grow along with it," Priestly added.

Looking Ahead

This joint venture represents the beginning of a long-term commitment to Guyana — one focused on innovation, collaboration, and meaningful contribution to the country's continued development.

As the venture takes shape, Altomaxx Offshore looks forward to supporting Guyanese industry, talent, and growth for years to come.
